How To Do Old Person Makeup

This post may incorporate chapter links. This does non effect the price.

Y'all wanna look old?  No!?

But it's then fun!

Okay... I'll be more specific.  Allow'southward put on stage makeup for old age.  I promise, it's a lot of fun.

I totally freaked out my kids and husband.  The kids were watching me and saying how creepy I looked and asking me why I was doing this.  My eldest daughter wants me to exercise this for Halloween.  My youngest son said no to the creepy onetime lady face.  My husband jumped when I turned around.  So satisfying... I remember.

[Tweet "I am near to learn how to expect actually former."]

Let's exercise this.

Materials needed:  Highlight, Shadow, dark-brown eye liner, two pocket-size/medium flat brushes, and two broad flat brushes.

This kit is the one I used in theatre for higher. It's got everything.

Nowadays, if you search for Ben Nye products all you'll run into is Banana powder. Stinking Kardashians.

You lot tin can get a smaller personal kit if you'd like, instead of the full kit.

Not pictured: eyeliner and two wide brushes

Here I am.  Yep, that'sbefore the old lady makeup, y'all muddied rat.  This is me at the end of a long 24-hour interval, okay. Then there!  Yep, I did stick out my natural language.  I pulled back my bangs and hair so I could get to work. Y'all should as well.

pre-makeup face

Offset with a fresh, clean face.

Put on a good foundation to even out your face up for a proficient base of operations. If your face is notoriously oily, I definitely recommend you put on a skilful primer showtime.

Motion-picture show Key:  White = Highlight  Black = Shadow

If you see a white arrow that is where you highlight.  If you meet a black pointer that is where you lot shadow, etc.

We'll start from the top of the face to the bottom.  It's much easier this fashion, you won't smudge your makeup as you work.

Also, start with the highlights outset.  You put in the large area of highlights, and then the shading.  Then you add the specific highlights in afterwards.  Don't worry, I'll walk y'all through it.

Forehead

Starting time, we'll historic period information technology with some basics.

aged forehead

At present nosotros'll add in some wrinkles.  To practise this:

  1. Raise your eyebrows to contraction your brow upwards.  Good.
  2. Draw a apartment line in each wrinkle.
  3. Let go of your eyebrows.
  4. Get back with your shadow and depict the line a flake darker and then gently elevate your shadow straight upwardly.  Not a ton, just a little bit.  See the picture for clarity.
  5. Take your highlight and draw a very precise line just underneath the shadow.  It needs to be crisp.
  6. Take a look and blend where needed.  DON'T alloy your well-baked highlight line.

Don't freak out!  At first information technology looks like brown lines on your face... information technology's okay.

Just do these wrinkles where you actually have them.  I am blessed with few forehead wrinkles.  I have two barely there ones.  I win!

forehead wrinkles

As you can see, I have besides done wrinkles between my brows.  These are the ones that'll turn ugly when I'thou older.  Yikes!

Care for them the same way, exceptDON'Tblend the chocolate-brown line.  Put a highlight line on the underside. If it's pretty vertical, put it on the inside office of the line (the part closest to the other center).

Eyes

The best function!

  1. Beginning, highlight lid.
  2. Take your shadow and starting time from the corner of your centre and get that center socket shape.  Recall you're onetime, your center is going to sink in a chip.
  3. And so do the crease.  I naturally have a droopy lid - it volition hang down when I'k an old lady, I'm sure.  This is why I have taken my shadow and fatigued it downwards with the natural pucker of my eye lid.
  4. Add together shadow at forehead bone at a downward angle to get the droop effect.
  5. Later I went back and put more shadow on my lid for information technology to be more sunken in.

eye 1

Now the heart handbag.  Yay!

  1. Add shadow on your lower chapeau.
  2. Highlight underneath it. The actual purse surface area.
  3. Accept your highlighter and outline the outside edge of the centre purse drawn a line.
  4. Accept more highlighter and blend that line out.  It'll expect like a U.
  5. Accept your shadow, draw the line only to a higher place the highlight line.  Blend upwardly and in.  Make sure your bag is heavier at the corner and fades as it nears your center.  It shouldn't reach your outer eye.

eye 2

  • Last,  you have your brownish eyeliner (or darker shadow) and draw a crisp line at the bottom of the handbag (but above the highlight).
  • Accept your shading castor and blend slightly (up).
  • Add in wrinkles (where they naturally occur) at your eyes.  Crinkle your eyes to find them.
  • Draw in the shadow, and so add a highlight underneath!  Like shooting fish in a barrel!

eye 3

Nose

With old age your nose is bigger.  It's unfortunate, but truthful.  I'g making my nose wider and my nostrils bigger.

  1. To make wider you highlight downwardly the nose, and the whole front portion of the nose.
  2. To make nostrils bigger, you highlight those besides, all the way to the crease where you olfactory organ and cheeks come across.
  3. Add shadow to the sides of your nose, depict a line right upwards adjacent to the highlight and blend out to the cheeks into your foundation.
  4. For the nostrils, follow the natural curve, but just outside the bodily crease to enlarge them.

nose 1

Yikes! What an angle!

 Cheeks

  1. Get-go at your nostril, follow the large crease down (if information technology's hard to find, smile, then follow the crease) to your mouth.
  2. In the get-go picture show I have a dark-brown line crossed out.  I didn't like the manner information technology looked so I just wiped it off and stock-still it.  No sweat.  You can run into it fixed in the second picture.
  3. Draw the line and have information technology keep going by the mouth.  Your cheeks are going to hang real low as y'all get geriatric.
  4. Blend that line out, it's a bit thicker than the residue of your wrinkle lines.
  5. Add a highlight inside.
  6. I added some to my whole cheek, composite advisedly, no hard edge.

cheek 1

For an apple cheek - they'll be prissy and full.  Probably from all that cake I'll exist baking as a sweet ole granny.

  1.  Start at the nostril and sweep out and up.
  2. Alloy upwards.
  3. Add highlight to the centre of the cheekbone and the surrounding cheek area.  You just desire information technology more concentrated there.
  4.  Add a light glaze underneath the shadow as well.
  5. Add together some blush to the apples of your cheek if you'd similar.

cheek 2

Lips

In old age your lips get thinner.  Boo.  To exercise this is elementary.

  1. Put foundation or highlighter over your lips.
  2. On your bottom lip add a natural lip colour, but merely inside your natural lip line.
  3. On the top lip add a darker color likewise inside the lip line.
  4. Add together contouring with some shading and highlighting to the surrounding oral cavity expanse.
  5. Add together wrinkles to your lips.  Done and washed.

Jaw

  • Add highlight in a scallop movement aslope your jawline (to a higher place the ridge). Information technology's like a three, lying on its back, simply 3 scallops, instead of two.

jaw 1

  • Add triangles of highlight underneath your scallop.  (Meet the picture below)
  • Take your shadow and start at the top edge of the bottom highlight.  Is that confusing plenty?  Make information technology a hard edge.
  • Then blend the shadow upward to see the acme scallop.  Yous don't want a hard edge where those 2 meet.

jaw 2

Earlier, During, and After

Now, go back and touch up anything y'all'd similar.  Your face may not be perfectly symmetrical, don't worry about it.  Remember, this is stage makeup.  Information technology'southward best seen at a far altitude, not right upwardly close.  It'll still look pretty dang sweet though.
