How to Draw A Lamborghini ready to hit the road

Learn how to draw a Lamborghini using a complex, but amusing cartoon lesson filled with simple tips and advice. Drawing cars is not always easy. Precision is needed and getting it wrong is easy if you are not careful with proportions and special effects.

In this lesson, I will show you how to create a simple Lamborghini filled with just enough details and effects to make sure that the car is recognizable and easy to achieved. Below is the final illustration. Are you read to draw? Let's go!

Step 1

First, let's start by drawing both wheels using simple elements like circles and rectangles. Make sure that the back of the object is black and add a large circle to illustrate the tire. Add a small circle in the middle and draw five rectangles around this circular shape.

Step 2

Next, use the gradient fill tool to add a second color on each shape. The goal is to end up with something dark and filled with depth.

Step 3

On the tire, add a darker shape (the one with a pink outline, which is only use to make the shape easier to read) and use transparency to partially hide the top of this new shape.

Step 4

Create a similar shape on the tire, but this time make it brighter. Once again, use transparency to hide the bottom part of this new shape.

Step 5

This is the final version of both tires.

Step 6

You can now sketch the body of the Lamborghini using simple lines. The car must be filled with a bright yellow color. Using a thin outlines is also recommended in this case.

Step 7

Once the outline of the car is finished, start filling it with details like the windows, the lights and other small lines like shown in the illustration below.

Step 8

The same thing can be done on the back of the car.

Nice! This is the result so far.

Step 10

Now let's add some darker shapes to create cool effects on the vehicle. All shapes with colorful outlines below are added to create dark areas on the Lamborghini. Transparency is also used on all shapes to create subtle effects.

Step 11

The same technique can be used on the back of the vehicle. Some areas like the door or the area near the lights are more complicated because many different shapes are involved.

Step 12

This is the Lamborghini once all dark shapes are drawn on the vehicle. Nice work! Now that darker areas are done, why not create brighter ones? :)

Step 13

In this image below, you can see all additional shapes created to illustrate highlights on the vehicle. All these shapes are white and once again, transparency is used to make these effects subtle.

Step 14

The same technique can be used on the back of the car.
